Celebrating black women on international women's day
'International Women's Day' can feel like a strange day to celebrate, as a Black woman, so when Skiddle asked me to share 8 tracks by women who inspire me, it was quite clear to me that this would be a moment to spotlight and celebrate some incredible Black women making music today. NOTION MAGAZINE NEW MUSIC AWARDS NOMINATION FOR BEST NEW JAZZ/ FUNK/ SOUL

'Not for me' LYRICS
‘Not For Me’ is a song about one of the darkest periods in my life. I didn’t know that I’d make it out of the other end, but I did. This song has evolved with me. This is a song about learning who you are and how to say no. 12 stories high, views of the city, All the streets they seem to turn the wrong way Faces blur, through the bottom of the glass Who have I become under this glitter mask? Hedonism, malbec wine, Dark red overcame my mind Still, I’m, led by, the line… Round
