Fresh from selling out her debut headline show in Birmingham at Hare & Hounds in January and a 'Breakthrough Artist' award win under her belt, 'Neo-jazz star' (NME) Ni Maxine announces the 'Mother's Arms' headline tour, 5 UK cities, this Spring. This tour marks the release of her debut EP with a vinyl release.
Her debut EP explores themes of home, identity and belonging through an afro-pean lens, shaped by her parents' transatlantic roots and histories.
Ni Maxine, celebrated as an artist who carries the lineage of genre while expanding its boundaries (by Notion Magazine) was named one of their 'Best New Jazz/ Funk/ Soul nominees' at the inaugural Notion New Music Awards, marking this breakthrough project for Ni Maxine.
This tour follows a number of live appearances across the country during the EP creation process including We Out Here, Mostly Jazz, Brick Lane Jazz Festival and more. She has been honing her craft over the years from intimate rooms to outdoor festival stages and has crafted a show which feels like the beginning of a new era of Ni Maxine, deeply rooted in her personal experiences and tricky to put into a box, but nodding to the jazz greats that came before her.
'For Maxine, the stage isn't just about performance, it's communion.' - Wordplay

'I am really excited to take my music to places I have never played in before, and to re-visit some of the places I have such wonderful memories of playing in. My first ever headline show happened in Newcastle, years ago, so it feels special to be going back now, with some music out for people to go and listen to after the show if they like it. I'm particularly excited to play in Margate - I have loved working with People Dem Collective to bring this show to life and can't wait to meet everyone there.' - Ni Maxine
