ree

It’s ’Time to Dance’. Marking the release of Ni Maxine’s new single ‘Time’, we gather at SUONO on Friday 17th October 2025, from 7PM, for a dance, with the legendary Andrew Ibi on the decks and more surprises to be announced! This is a one-off event, so don't miss it!

Andrew Ibi, DJ, Curator, is the founder of London based, ‘The Reference Library’, a collective of maverick left-field vinyl DJs and selectors playing music bridging gaps between Jazz, Funk, Soul, Reggae and Afrobeat. Launched in 2003, the sound has contributed to the consolidation of Black British club culture. Andrew Ibi thrives at the intersection of music and fashion, inspiring the next generation of designers and musicians across the UK.

Award-winning Liverpool based ‘Neo-jazz star, Ni Maxine’ (NME) is one to watch.

Her music moves between past and future, blending conscious lyricism, rich storytelling, and an unshakable sense of self. Themes of home, identity, self-worth, and belonging weave through her work, creating something that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant. Winner of 'Breakthrough Act of The Year' at The Jazz FM awards 2025 and hailed 'a Black woman at the forefront of the UK scene,' (Black Ballad), Ni Maxine's songs carry the weight of lived experience and collective memory and create space for people to feel.

On the decks, Ni Maxine curates a soulful, sophisticated journey through jazz, from the rhythm and grit of Billie Holiday and Betty Carter to a more modern and soulful take; cue KOKOROKO, Yazmin Lacey, Cleo Sol, BINA., Ezra Collective, Little Simz, Anaiis, Rosie Lowe, Erykah Badu.
